ABOUT US
Dora Hu, LMFT
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA BBS Lic#102495) with over a decade of experience providing psychotherapy in a variety of settings, including community-based mental health, correctional facilities, and hospitals. Since transitioning to full-time private practice in 2020, I have dedicated my work to supporting the mental health needs of individuals and families—particularly within immigrant communities. As an immigrant myself, I understand firsthand the emotional complexity of navigating cultural transitions, legal processes, and shifting family dynamics. I regularly work with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, work-related stress, and relational or intergenerational challenges. I also specialize in providing professional psychological evaluations for immigration cases, including asylum, hardship waivers, and VAWA petitions.
My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to support mindfulness, emotional regulation, and distress tolerance—while empowering clients toward meaningful change. I recently completed Level 1 training in the Gottman Method for couples therapy and plan to continue training in the near future to further support couples in building healthy, lasting relationships.

Stella Mak, LMFT
As a Chinese American therapist with over a decade of experience in the mental health field, I am deeply committed to integrating cultural sensitivity into my practice. I specialize in working with individuals struggling with depression and anxiety, helping them navigate interpersonal challenges, deepen self-awareness, and cultivate self-compassion. I recognize that therapy can be both difficult and transformative, and my goal is to guide individuals on their path to personal growth and emotional well-being. I work with clients to explore the impact of their family histories, especially those shaped by growing up as children of immigrant parents, and how these experiences influence their sense of self and current life. Additionally, I work with individuals to manage stress from work and the various roles we balance in our everyday lives.

Andrea Chan, Psy.D
My areas of specialty include providing culturally-aware, psychodynamic-oriented psychotherapy to individuals struggling with depression and/or anxiety, attachment-based and relationship concerns or struggles, intergenerational process of trauma, and individuals who would like to build a deeper understanding of their past and their internal world.
Therapy can be a challenging process as painful or contradictory feelings, memories or realizations may surface. At the same time, by confronting our patterns, one can often build incremental steps towards a deeper understanding of themselves, and ultimately, of their goals. I offer a free 15-min consultation. Contact me to see if we will work well together.
